BUYING AND SELLING
SCRAP METALS & PRECIOUS METALS
We Buy E-Scrap

NOW OPEN: 70 Ft. Truck Scale!

HOLIDAY CLOSING:

We will be closed May 26-28 in observance of Memorial Day.
Glisson Metals is an independent family owned business with over 35 years of experience that buys many types of scrap metals such as copper, aluminum, brass, gold and silver.  We also buy car, truck and heavy equipment batteries.  See our “What We Buy” page for a more complete list. Recycling is important in today’s environmentally conscious society.  By recycling we can cut down on what ends up in our landfills and create jobs in a sluggish economy.  We are not affiliated with any other scrapyard or recycling center in the Greenville area.

We are open M-F, 8-5 and Saturday 9-2. We are conveniently located just off Greene St. on Pactolus Hwy in Greenville, NC.  We offer top pricing for your scrap metals and precious metals.  We are here to serve the backyard recycler or the industrial recycler in Pitt, Beaufort, Edgecombe, Greene, Lenoir, Nash, Martin, Wilson and surrounding counties.  We welcome business from anywhere!

For your commercial or industrial needs, contact one of our consultants to design a program for your specific needs at (252)-321-0706.

Recycling Tips for Scrap Metals

1. Metal is Ferrous (steel, iron, tin, appliances) or Non-ferrous (copper, aluminum, brass, etc.).
2. A small magnet quickly identifies Ferrous vs. Non-ferrous.  Only Ferrous is magnetic.
3. Prices can change daily or weekly depending on the market conditions.  Calling 252-321-0706 for
pricing is recommended ESPECIALLY on large quantities.
4. Separating metals by type and removing rubber, plastic, wood, screws, etc., is key to getting the most
money when selling metals to a recycling company.
5. We DO NOT accept flammable or hazardous materials such as gas, oil, propane, etc.
6.  Places to get scrap: your garage, work place, friends, neighbors, local businesses, etc.
7. Start a metal recycling program at work, church, or school then bring us your collection.

Prices
Due to frequent changes of prices, we can not put them on the website. However, you may call us at 252-321-0706 and get our current prices anytime during our regular business hours.

Examples of Metals We Buy:

Picture

ALUMINUM CANS
Cans that magnets will not stick to are usually made from aluminum.  If you crush your cans from top to bottom as seen in the photo; you can store more in your holding container. An aluminum can that is thrown away today will still be a can 500 years from now!

CLEAN COPPER WIRE
Copper wire that is clean has no insulation on it or other wrapping.  It will be bright and shiny and usually new.  However, not all #1 copper is new and shiny.  Check our page on preparing metals to sell for details.

GOLD
Any grade of gold is accepted.  We suggest that jewelry have all precious stones removed if you wish to keep them. Stones in jewelry are not part of the weight when gold is purchased.

(Gold plated isn't a graded gold.)
